According to my schedule, this week I should have finished writing my articles, and completed my layout for my first double page spread.
I ran into difficulties this week because I found that writing my article for 'HOT off the Streets' is impossible to do until I actually have the photos of the people because it is all about them and what they are wearing etc... Therefore I was unable to write this article. I then began writing my article for 'Dare to Be - EXTREME', it's been quite difficult finding a writing style that will interest people that don't have a specific interest in climbing, but I think that by making my article not centred around climbing and climbing jargon I am including those in the audience who aren't originally that interested. Also the fact that I plan to have some really high-fashion looking photography on the page, I think that it will be a strong point of the magazine.
I took inspiration from America's Next Top Model Cycle 9 'climbing' photo shoot for the imagery for this article, and I hope to use the external lighting equipment at the climbing wall within the next two weeks or so to get my images for this article.
I have also started doing the layouts for my articles; I haven't finished either of them because I have found it difficult working without any images. My photo shoot is on Friday 3rd February and hopefully after I have my images from that I will be able to complete my contents page, my front cover and my 'HOT off the Streets' article.
This week I got my bible back and added the page numbers to my contents page, I also changed them around so that they were in a coherent numerical order, and I began the layout for my front cover. Both are still in working progress but once I have my images from the photo shoot I will be able to complete them, and work out where to place the enigmas and sell-lines on the front cover.
Unfortunately I am falling behind on my schedule, but after my photo shoot I am planning to stay in the media room during my free periods in order to catch back up on the work that I am currently lagging behind on.

Production Monitoring Blog - Goal Evaluation
This week I have managed to stay on schedule, I've completed all of my planning documents and uploaded them to my blog. I also have my contents page which I finished up on tuesday.
The blank space on the right is where I am going to be adding my image once I have done the photo shoot (which is booked for the 3rd of February), and the page numbers will be added to the articles once I get my bible back from marking.
I chose to base my contents page on the style of 'GLAMOUR' magazine as it is very popular with my target audience.
Although the colour scheme is very blue at the moment I am going to wait and see how my images come out from the photo shoot, and hopefully tie in the colour scheme with the images of the contents page, front cover, and all of the text.
I feel that this week has gone to plan, and there were no real problems. Although nothing has gone wrong, reflecting on my schedule I think that I had planned my time too sparsely in the beginning and not given myself enough time for the later post-production. I am now worrying that later on in the post-production work I might not have a lot of time to pull everything together, and I really need to step up the pace. Even though it is still early on in the production process I still have a while to wait for my photo shoot, this means that when I am doing to be creating my double page spreads there will probably be a lot of last minute changes that I will make to try and tie everything together. I don't want to be getting behind and leaving a lot of work near the deadline date, because I know from experience of last year and doing my mock-ups this year that I spend a lot of time tweaking, rearranging and re-doing my pages.
Next week I hope to finish writing my article for 'Dare to Be - EXTREME', and begin my layout for it as well. Therefore I am going to make sure that I am reading magazines and looking at magazine layouts over the next week to compare my work to, and make sure that I am on the right track concerning language use, writing style and the visuals of the layouts.

Production Monitoring Blog (progress up to the 10th January).
So far the extent of the production of my magazine has pretty much been summed up in the Pitch powerpoint in my last post.
I have created flat plans, rationales and mock ups all of which outline the ideas for how my magazine will look, sound and attract an audience.
In the last week I have completed:
3 Call Sheets for my photo shoot personnel
A Contingency Plan to outline problems that I may suffer from, and how to prevent/overcome them
Photo Shoot Plan outlining the lighting set ups I need, what I hope to achieve from it
Booked Photo Shoot - Booked for the 3rd of February
Nothing went wrong this week as I was just doing all the last bits of 'paperwork' before the practical production begins. Therefore my aims for this next week are to; create my contents page and make adjustments to my 'Charity Shop Chic' mock up so that it can be used as a final article.
